Goshoji Temple
Goshoji, a Soto Zen temple, stands among the village homes with green foothills behind it. Rice fields spread before the temple — a landscape true to the name Tanaka, “in the rice fields.”
The date of its founding has not been confirmed. Yet its name, Goshoji — protecting living things — carries a direct expression of Zen teaching.
It is about three minutes by car from Tsurui Station. Follow the farm roads and the temple appears at the foot of the hills, where village life and prayer continue together.
